Infrastructure Improvements
I’ve worked with Town, County and State Agencies to improve the sewers and roads in the 4th District.  With a focus on quality of life, safety and economic development, these changes are making a difference for residents as well as visitors.

1) In an effort to promote the 4th District and the $20 million expansion of the Holiday Inn convention center at Electronics Parkway during the 2009 Syracuse Nationals, I worked with the County & Town of Salina DOT and the NYS Thruway to significantly improve the function and esthetics of Thruway Exit 37 at Electronics Blvd. and the medians in the area.  I met with Bob O'Connor, the director of the Right Coast Association, which organizes the Syracuse Nationals to let him know how thankful our community is for all the visitors the Nationals bring to our hotels, restaurants and small businesses in the Liverpool area.

2) Over the past few years I have worked closely with the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department and the County DOT to show how critical a traffic signal at the corner of Buckley & Hopkins Road are to the residents in the area.

Historical accident data showed that this traffic light was necessary and it was installed in September 2009.  Over the next year, studies will be done to determine if a turning lane off of Buckley road is needed.

3) The serious sewer issues in Salina are in the process of being addressed and while more still needs to be done, local residents and I have worked closely over the past two years to bring attention to the seriousness of the health concerns or Bloody Brook.

I am committed to continuing to leverage established relationships with the public and private sector to continue to improve our area.
